Suggest Treatment For Pain Radiating From Groin Area To The Buttocks

I am a male, age 55. I am experiencing pain on my right side, in my groin area and is especially acute when I sit down. It extends beyond where my groin is and almost goes to the right hip area. Sometimes the pain extends down below in to my buttocks. Is this a hernia or something a Urologist should look at? Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Hernia pain will radiate down to buttock, neither urology issue of calculus matches with the same.

Acute ligament spasm, nerve compression or other musculoskeletal issue is more likely to be the reason and the same should be addressed to the consultant surgeon first for primary evaluation and further guidance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
