Suggest Treatment For Painful Abscess At The Back Of Thigh
I have an abscess with a black spot in the middle and an red area around, it is in the back of my thighs . it is very painful. I started to take sulfa every 8 hours today after come from work and see that the red area has been grown also I m using warm to fresh compress. Are the compress hepfull? because it feesl it hurts more after I used them for hours. What is the black spot in the middle?
Advised surgical excision. Based on the findings given in your query you seem to be having an infected sebaceous cyst. The black spot in the middle of the swelling punctum (come done opening) of the cyst.
Warm compresses may not be helpful in reducing the swelling. You need to consult a surgeon for proper clinical examination and complete surgical removal of the cyst with its intact cyst wall.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
