Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 44 years old and my ankles are swollen and painful. I have a chronic cough and I bruise very easily. I can t run like I used to and when I work out I get short of breath too fast. I went to the doctor many times and they can t find anything wrong with me. One day it looked like blood vessels broke in my chest because I woke up and there was a dark patch on my chest which went away after about two weeks. I had many test but know reason why I am having these symptoms. Do you have any ideas?
Painful and swollen ankles can be a result of arthritis unless there is a history of trauma present.Have you ever done any diagnostic tests that help to find out if any autoimmune itiology is present?
I would auggest you to see a rheumatologist and get Xray of the ankle joint done. After the reports come, visit a rheumatologist.
There is a need for physical examination and appropriate history to further evaluate the symptoms.
Your doctor might ask you to get some other diagnostic tests done which include tests to see the presence of antibodies that result in autoimmune illness.
Your doctor will suggest you some pain relieving medicines as well as anti-inflammatory medicines as per requirement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
