Suggest Treatment For Painful Ankle Sprain

I recently sprained my ankle about 30 minutes-1 hour ago, and when i try to walk on it, pain rises all the way up to my knee and of course lower to the ankle. Why is this pain coming and why does it feel like someone grabbed my ankle and are pulling it?
