I have a small group of painful blisters (about the size of a quarter)in the top of my butt crack. Its happened before, I thought from a long hair from my head falling and causing irritation, but don t think thats it. I m not sexually active and haven t been since before these started appearing. What could it be?

Hello,

Painful blisters on buttocks indicate possible fungal or bacterial infection most likely. Guidelines for better recovery:
- Local antiseptic cleansing
- Ice packing of the part
- Avoid tight inner garments or jeans
- Plenty of liquids
- Control of blood sugar
- Anti-inflammatory drugs with diclofenac or ibuprofen
- Antibiotics prescription as penicillin, cephalosporin, fluoroquinolones or else for broad spectrum bacterial coverage and prevention of further spread of infection

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
