Welcome to HCM, I have gone through you query and understood your concerns, obviously you have a shingle symptoms and sign, if you got the chickenpox the riks increase, I advice you go to the doctor because the acyclovir ( main drug ) needs a prescription, anyway you can start to take some (OTC ) anti-inflammatory, pain killers and antihistamines, keep clean and dry the area, a calamine lotion is very helpful, the shingle treatment is focused to relieve the symptoms and avoid secondary infections, about your concerns whether the shingle is contagious or not only those who have never had chickenpox are exposed I hope that my advice has been helpful, take care
