Suggest Treatment For Painful Bowel Movements In A Toddler

Hi can you tell me what type of doctor my 3 yr old granddaughter needs to see. She is having severe bowel problems since born. She screams with bowel movements because they are hard and large we feed her fiber gummies everyday and have used mirlax with no help. Please help it is hard hearing her scream in pain!

Hi,

The pain is due to dry and hard stools. She can be given boiled vegetables, raw fruits and salads along with sufficient water intake. Apply glycerin suppository for children at fixed hours in a day. So as to form regular bowel habits. Eating water soaked dried fig would help her.
