Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am not constipated, I usually have 1 -2 bowel movement a day. But each time, I have pain. When it is really painful, there is blood, I m assuming from the stretching of the anal tissues. But even when the bowel movement is small and less solid, it hurts.
It could be an anal fissure. It is nothing but a crack in the anal opening and when there is bowel movements the fissure stretches and cause pain. However other causes must be ruled out. Consult a general surgeon and he will direct you accordingly. A rectal examination is required to make a diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, we can try conservative management like laxatives and local ointments. In severe cases surgical correction may be required. Newer techniques are also available like LASER with better results and less complications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
