Suggest Treatment For Painful Bruising On Ribs After Injury

Hi I m a 31 year old male. Nearly 2 weeks ago I had a fall and injured my ribs. I think they are just badly bruised and have been carrying on with my day to day activities even though still painful while taking ibuprofen. More concerning was yesterday my right nipple became very painful and today it is slightly swollen and red/pink about an inch around the nipple. Could this be linked to the injury to my ribs or just coincidence ? Many thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to the injury. I suggest using an anti inflammatory treatment such as Ibuprofen 400 mg. I also suggest to avoid body movements that can trigger the pain. The symptoms will relieve gradually.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
