Suggest Treatment For Painful Bump Inside Vagina

Hi doctors ! My gf was hurt during intercourse and she had pain , on checking it was found that in the inner first layer of vagina there was a bump and it had a narrow bleeding and after 2 days we used savlon on it as it was bleeding ( a point sized blood ) but using that made that bump or a pimple white ! is it an area of concern ?? Thanks !

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
What problem you could be having inside vagina is 'Bartholin's cyst'. Since it is painful and bleeding, it could be infected.
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Clean the area with mild antiseptic solution like Povidine-iodine solution twice daily.
2. Take antiinflammatory analgesic medication like Ibuprofen after food.
3. Take a course of antibiotics containing Amoxacillin and Clavulenic acid.
4. Take warm Sitz bath twice daily.
5. Abstain from sexual activities till the lesions heal completely.
It should start to subside by doing above measures by 3 to 5 days.
In case the cyst recurs or does not subside, you may have to undergo a procedure called 'marsupialization'. Kindly consult Gynecologist for evaluation and management.
