Suggest Treatment For Painful Buttocks After Hurting Left Knee And Right Leg

I fell about seven weeks ago I hit my head I fell down hard on my left knee and my right leg went under me some way I could not sit on my right side as the bone inside my bottom was so painful I could not bend down I was black and blue made worse by being on warfarin. I did not want to eat , I was in shock and kept thinking about what happened. About two or three weeks later I started to have loose stools ,and was going normal , then a while later a little loose then yellow. I had a very nearvy tummy jumpy. I went and got buscopan and the chemist said to have two three times a day . I had that the first day and felt better . Then the next day I only took one tablet and it was back so I took one tablet three times .then I thought oh leave it to come right . Then I decided to start again and write down what I eat as well.for the last six days I have taken one tablet four times a day and eat right I have been going around once normal then a little then maybe again later and it was getting better. But now for the last about four days I keep getting a pain in my right side and sometimes across the front very low down. I do long wee s and I stopped taking buscopan yesterday lunch time. I wen three times yesterday normal then loose then loose and colour brown . I don t know what is going on

Hello,

From the question, I understand that altered bowel habits is what you are worried about. Altered bowel movements are seen in the following conditions:
1) Inflammatory bowel disease
2) Irritable bowel syndrome
3) Bacterial or viral infection of gastrointestinal tract
4) Colon polyps
5) Intestinal obstruction
6) Colon cancer

My recommendations are as follows:
1) You need to stop taking Buscopan tablet
2) Check if the diarrhea and pain abdomen are still present
3) You may require few investigations like complete blood picture, stool culture, ultrasound imaging of abdomen
4) If you still have loose stools many times a day, you can use tab. Loperamide twice daily
5) You also need Sporolac sachets to be taken one sachet once daily to revive your gut useful flora.
If your symptoms persist, please do consult a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
