Suggest Treatment For Painful Hard Bump Near Ankle

I got hit with a softball right above my inner ankle slightly off center of my shin about a month ago. There was a softball sized bump for a while but it never really bruised. Now there is a hard bump at the top of where the softball hit about an inch in diameter that is painful to the touch and doesn't seem to be going away. Is this normal?
