General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It might be due to the angiography done via the femoral route. The catheter is passed from an artery to the heart and the coronary arteries of the heart are examined for blockade.
Whenever an artery is punctured, local haematoma gets formed as in your case. The femoral site is swelled but it will resolve in a few days when the blood will disperse to the nearby tissue. It may regress in the next 5 to 7 days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
