Suggest Treatment For Painful Hematoma

I got a pretty serious hematoma a week ago. I flipped my quad and the handlebar hit me in the inner thigh. Had an x-ray, not broken bones. However the hematoma is still hard, the skin still numb and I keep getting this burning/electrical jabs of pain. Is this normal?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are quite normal due to the accumulation of blood under skin and there is pressure in it. You need to have some patience, because it may need a couple of weeks for you to improve. If the pain persists, I recommend performing an ultrasound of this region.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
