Hello,

You have history of injury to the elbow while playing baseball. Since your MRI shows abnormal amount of fluid accumulation, you are suggested to get treated at the earliest. The extra fluid detected causes soreness, irritation, inflammation and pain. This may be indicative of elbow (Olecranon) bursitis. Left untreated it may cause limitation in movement like unable to fully flex or extend the arm. it may later cause joint locking, etc.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by an orthopedics. You will have to get few blood and other tests done. If infection is detected you will need antibiotics, analgesics or NSAIDS. After a course of conservative treatment the symptoms should reduce and you should get comfortable. If elbow bursitis treatment does not relieve swelling and symptoms, or if antibiotics do not effectively treat the infected bursa. The treating doctor may recommend aspiration or surgery. It may take around 6 weeks to heal post surgery. Get it treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
