Suggest Treatment For Painful Lump On The Calf

There is a bone like lump coming out on the side of my upper calf on the left side of my right knee from my perspective, doesn t hurt when I run but at night there is pain. It is about 5 inches lower than my knee cap. What is it? How can I get pain to stop?
