Suggest Treatment For Painful Pea-sized Lump Inside Tongue

I have a lump about the size of a pea inside my tongue. It's tender. Then I grab my tongue and press it with my forefinger and thumb and it really hurts. It's been sore a couple days now. But today is the first time I've noticed the actual lump itself. It isn't visible, but I sure do feel it when I grab hold of my tongue. What could this be?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain a painful pea sized lump over the tongue can be a canker sore that has not yet ulcerated, it can also be due to allergic reaction, physical trauma or due to infection over tongue..
It can also be a Hematoma formed secondary to tongue bite or can also be a Hemangioma..
I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles..
Take a multivitamin daily..
Do cool compresses over the lump or suck ice pops.
You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen or Aleve..
In case of no improvement in a week consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
