Suggest Treatment For Painful Perineum

My perineum on the left side has been hurting for almost a year. The more active I am, the worse it hurts. I get up of a morning and usually isn t hurting but it gets worse later in day. Had a CAT scan and my urologist didn t find anything. But, of course, I wasn t walking much that day since I have to drive 1 1/2 hours to the doctor. He said to see my gastroologist. My GP says to see a gynecologist. It hurts so much now that My husband I haven t had intercourse in months. Please help me. What should I do?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. I would suggest a proper clinical evaluation by a gynecologist as you have difficulty with intercourse also. It remains to be seen if there is any injury to the perineum that is causing the pain or any induration has developed. Infections are another likely cause. A local exam, speculum exam, a pelvic sonogram are helpful. Further management can be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
