Suggest Treatment For Painful Rashes On The Lower Leg

I have Primary Immune Defiency and take Gammagard S/D every 2 weeks. I have developed hives or a red discoloration on my lower legs between the shin and feet. They burn and itch and it is painful to walk. I get some release when I am off my feet. Any idea what it might be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, painful rashes on legs might be in concern with hypersensitivity to immunoglobulins if the same have arisen after the therapy only. Apply calamine lotion over the affected portions and report the incidence to office of your doc for further guidelines. Any off the counter medications are strictly not encouraged as you have primary immune deficiency.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
