Suggest Treatment For Painful Red Rash On The Buttock
Wondering what causes a reddish area that is painful, but not itchy on both buttocks near tailbone. I am 71 female. Have had it 2 years since i fell, landing my tailbone on a case of 16 oz water bottles. Tailbone was swollen for seveal months. Not now, but the soreness has not gone away. Dr tested skin twice, normal, nothing. Dry skin. It is very painful. All blood work normal.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful red rash on the buttock. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like fungal infection, contact dermatitis , allergic reaction due to detergent, soap , fragrance , chemical, metal, an animal bite, or an insect sting, bacterial infection of hair follicles and lyme disease. Need not to worry. For now take benadryl twice a day , apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product. Wear loose clothes. I would suggest you to avoid touching or picking rash. Maintain complete hygiene. You should consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
