Suggest Treatment For Painful Scabs With Shingles

I was diagnosed with disseminated shingles 2 1/2 months ago. The lesions on my scalp keep breaking out. They are itchy and painful. I have had lots of headaches. The lesions on my face healed up but my scalp lesions keep flaring up with painful thick scabs. Has anyone seen this before?

Hi,

There is a condition called post herpetic neuralgia, which occurs in few patients after shingles. Your headache may be to this.

You may need antiviral medications to control flaring up if this is still due to Shingles.

Stay healthy and let me know if you need any clarifications.

Thanks!
