General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

With your description, it can be most probably a fungal infection.

You should consult a gynecologist and get yourself examined and take an antifungal drug (prescription drug) and hydrocortisone cream for local application.

Maintain proper vaginal hygiene, the area dry, eat less carbohydrate and high protein diet.

Other reasons it may be due to contact dermatitis, herpes, dryness (due to low estrogen levels) and folliculitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
