Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that due to crashing with another child your daughter has got a traumatic injury to the cheek and there is
soft tissue injury and there is inflammation.
Swelling seems to be due to accumulation of inflammatory exudate and cells, broken and damaged tissue fibres, ruptured blood vessels and spilled blood..
The had lump can be due to
hematoma formation at the site of injury and it gets harder due to encapsulation of hematoma with cells and fibres..
You should do alternate warm and cool compresses over the cheek, give her
tylenol for pain, apply a numbing gel if the swollen area is sore and also apply a
heparin containing gel for faster disruption of clot..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
