Suggest Treatment For Painful Swelling In The Lips

My lips are very sore and swollen. Seems like my lips are allergic to the sun. The doctor did a allergy test and only came up with allergy to shrimp....??? The Doctor did not give me any answers how to treat this except bendryl... This has been going on for 4 to 5 months, any ideas?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Painful swelling of the lips is most probably due to allergic reaction only..
As you are already diagnosed with shrimp allergy it can be a cause for the swelling as well as you might be allergic to other sea foods also..

Sea foods are one of the most common cause of allergy..

So my suggestion to continue taking Benadryl as it will help in reducing symptoms of allergy and also start doing cool compresses over the lips..
You should also drink plenty of water and avoid sea foods..

In case if you still do not get relieved you can consult an Allergist and get further evaluated..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
