Suggest Treatment For Painful Swelling Near Ear

Hi, I have developed a swelling next to my ear that is firm and painful to touch. This has been there for about 3 days. I had been working outside trimming brush and trees. I always dress in defense of bugs, with a cap and a bug shielding mesh jacket with hood.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Since, you are working in close vicinity of trees & bushes and insects, it is quite likely that you have got bitten by the insects.
Despite you are using complete protection against insect and bug bite, still possibility of insect or bug bite cannot be ruled out.
Since, the swelling is painful to touch you can take pain killer and hot fomentation to relieve the pain.
A clinical assessment is necessary to know the type of swelling.
Swelling in vicinity of ear can be due to insect or big bite, boil, furunculosis, etc.
However, clinical assessment is required to diagnose the condition and plan treatment.
