Suggest Treatment For Painful, Swollen And Red Uvula

hi my name is mick,i have a question,on either side of my uvula its swollen and red ,and it hurts,but not all the time,if i cough hard then it hurts.if i do work that causes me to take deep breaths then its hurts bad,till i slow my breathing down then it will ease up,is it tonsils and what can i do to eae the pain

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that painful, red and swollen uvula is due to infection and inflammation leading to Uvulitis and can be due to infection caused by bacteria or virus...
It can be due to post nasal drip, throat infection or upper respiratory tract infection..
I would suggest you to consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can help..
You can also suck throat lozenges, chew Vitamin C pellet and avoid spicy and chilled foods..
