Suggest Treatment For Painful Swollen Vein On The Finger

I hit my hand hard. My next to last Knuckle has a popped out vein above it now. It s swollen but I ve had ice and it s looking ok. It hurts in my finger and a little down my arm. It s very tender to touch. I can move it and make a fist but only so far as it hurts. Should I get it looked at or wait and see with ice?

Based on the facts of your query,You seem to have
Contused Knuckle with painful swollen vein on finger and arm.
The pain in making fist is mostly due to the contused tendon and soft tissue around the contused knuckle.
The swollen Vein in the finger is from the thrombophelbitis and venous obstruction from vein spam and clots if any.
Also the swelling is due to increased arterial flow from hyper circulation after the hard hit you had.

Treatment-
Cold sponging with Ice-x 3 days.
Tab Motrin 400 mgx 1 x 2 times a day.
Rest And Elevation.
IF no relief check up with Surgeon / or Gp doctor, who would assess the need for X-ray of the injured knuckle.
