Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have had two painless bumps on the top of my lip line for a good while now. I thought because there was no pain or anything that its just nothing. But now I m concerned on what it might be and why I had it for this long. I would appreciate the help. Thank you
I can understand your concern. The painless bumps that has stayed for a while at a place could be cysts. Cyst is a fluid filled cavity which is lined by a layer of cells. Unless they are infected, they do not pain.
In addition, as the bumps has stayed there for quite a while, they should not be ignored. You should see a dentist or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for clinical examination of the lumps regarding its size, color, consistency etc. You might need to go for biopsy for the confirmation of what type of lesion is there. Based on the results, treatment can be decided. If they are cysts, then excision along with its lining is the permanent cure of them.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
