Suggest Treatment For Pale Perennial Abscess

Hi, I have Crohn s disease and had what seemed to be a perianal abscess but with following my diet, it subsided. In recent weeks, while not following the diet, it has returned but appears slightly pale around the edges and black underneath the skin. What could that mean? I have no fever. My energy levels are fine. Thanks.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The area is indicating post-inflammatory changes which are usually an absence of fever, pale edges with black underneath the skin.

Must get consulting with treating physician as it requires

- specific antibiotics to heal the area
- steroids to control underlying Crohn`s
- dietary care
- avoidance of precipitating events as stress, anxiety.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
