Hi doctor. I live in Iran. I had toyal thyroidectomy 7 months ago due to papillary carcinoma. It was 20 days after my baby was born. Two months later I had 210 mci of Rai. After Rai I have started to feel pain in my both feet at the site of achilles tendons when walking. One of my finger joints also aches and is inflamed. I visited an orthopedic specialist and he prescribed Mobic pills (Meloxicam) which I take once a day but pain hasnt gone away. five months have passed and my pain still persists.I tested the Rhumatoid Arthritis factor in my blood which was negative. Do you think it relates to my condition or has happened because of Rai? Is it going to get any better? What should I do?
Postpatrum thyroid problems are believed to result from the modifications to the immune system during pregnancy. I would like to know some blood test like.TSH ,Ft3 Ft4 , TG .I thought that you did it?!? Did you take Hormon replasment Therpay?Patients require lifelong thyroid hormone replacement therapy, especially after total thyroidectomy. Treatment consists of levothyroxine in a dosage of 2.5-3.5 mcg/kg/d. Ollso it is nesessery to do Bone scintigrafiy.
In my opinion until you arnot tretmnt with HRT , the pain that you feel in both feet and at the site of achilles tendos...are symptoms of hypothyroid.Muscel problems are coomen during hypothyroid (Muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches)
So let your endocrinologiest to knoe hormon thyroid leves and than he /she can discustion. Hope the information will be helpfull. Kinds regard Dr Klodiana Poshi
