Suggest Treatment For Persistent Bladder Infection

I am taking SMZ-TMP 400-80mg one pill every night for prevention of bladder infections. I have been doing this for 6 months so far. I have a Dr. appointment for the urologist next month and they are going to take me off Bactrim for 6 months. I have gone through this 6 months ago and then I take every abtibiotic that is on the market and I have an on going bladder infection. Only when the 6 months is up do they let me have this Bactrim again. Why can t I take this every night for the rest of my life? This SMZ-TMP works for me.

Hello,

Consult a urologist and get evaluated.

You can go for a urine culture and sensitivity, you have to start antibiotics according to the culture report.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
