Suggest Treatment For Persistent Chest Congestion And Cough

Is it safe for my husband to take azithromycin with Brilinta, Ranexa, Atenolol, and Lisinopril. He went to the dr over a week ago with chest congestion and cough. She gave him azithromycin , but he only took the first dose. He had stents put in his heart this past thursday, and still has this terrible cough and congestion. He only got to take the first dose before all this happened. He was prescrible Brilinta and Ranexa after the stents.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is some interaction between the azithromycin and ranexa. The ranexa can increase the levels and the effects of the azithromycin.

This means that there is a chance of increased side effects related to the azithromycin but this is only a possibility. It may not occur.

He can monitor of any effects that may occur.

I hope this helps
