Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough And Yellow Nasal Discharge

My Dad has had a persistent cough which no one knows about but when he blows his nose, yellow stuff comes out. He has chronic leukemia and he's been to many of his Doctors. They either don't know or he doesn't remember or doesn't understand. We have asked the Doctors repeatedly. At one point, he had a lung infection which cleared up. He's taken many antibiotics. They give him musinex or other things. He's almost 90. He says though he hasn't told Doctor about the yellow stuff. He doesn't remember a lot.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, he is mostly having chronic sinusitis.
Sinus involvement is common in leukemia patients. This causes development of persistent post nasal discharge. And due to this mucus trickle in throat and cause irritant cough.
So better to rule out sinusitis.
So consult ENT doctor and get done endoscopic examination of sinuses. If possible also get done biopsy to know the organism causing sinusitis.
Once sinusitis is cured, his cough and yellow nasal discharge will also improve.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your father. Thanks.
