Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough Despite Taking Amoxicillin

I have a constant cough that last from 3 weeks to 3 months with constant clear thick or yellowish mucus. If I get a cold or have irritants in the air it happens to the same severity. Cough suppressants and home remedies don t work. Have taken a Z pack and amoxicillin and they didn t work. ????

Hi,

Any a cough more than 2 weeks should be evaluated for pulmonary TB.

So get the sputum test for AFB to rule out Tuberculosis.

Also, sputum for culture. Get a chest x-ray and meet pulmonologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. LOKESH S,
