Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough For Over A Month Despite Taking Doxycycline And Augmentin

I have had very loose cough for 4 weeks. Had chest X-ray neg. nurse practices initially put me on doxycycline and after week I went back with not much improvement. Weds she changed me to augmentin. No fever just loose cough. Very frustrated. Non smoker.

It seems to me you are not having the infection any more. It must be associated with allergic bronchitis.

If your cough is more then three weeks get a tuberculosis test done.

Take anti allergic medications instead of antibiotics like citrizene or levocitrizine.

Also take hot steam inhalations 2-3 times daily.

Avoid dusty and smoky places or too much outside if your city is polluted too much.
