Dry cough following an attack of flu is common and sometimes can trouble you for couple of months. It is wise to consult a physician to rule out chest infection. Occassionally, following an attack of flu there can be vagal neuritis which can cause Acid reflux (GERD) from the stomach into the throat, thus, irritating the throat and inducing cough.
Wish you good health
