Suggest Treatment For Persistent Diarrhea When Diagnosed With GI Problems

I am having lower GI problems going on 2 weeks. Every time I eat something, even just an egg, I wind up having diahrrhea, sometimes severe and sometimes mild. I am not very hungry because I know how it s going to turn out. Is there some medicine I can buy over the counter that will put some bulk back in my system?

Hello,

I think you need to get some diagnostic tests done first:
- upper endoscopy
- abdominal ultrasound
- stool examination for ova/parasites
- stool culture for candida

After getting the results we can decide for best treatment strategy.

For the moment, I advise to take:
- probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora
- antacids to stabilize stomach pH
- eat often and in small portions
- avoid foods that could aggravate the symptoms

Wish fast recovery.
