Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past 2 days I hav had diarrhea several times per day with breathtaking pain. No blood in bowel but watery mucous is present. I get very hot when this happens but after it passes I am fine until I eat/drink something. Could this just be an intestinal bug?
Hello dear user! I have gone through your query and understood your concerns! Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic. Yes the condition you have is called gastroenteritis. It is probably a bacterial gastroenteritis causing watery diarrhea with mucous discharge. It may be associated by high temperature too. The solution of this condition is by using medications and diet measures. First try to maintain a balanced diet, with light foods, like soups, etc. Second, keep well-hydrated. Use ORS to replace the lost liquids and mineral salts. I would recommend also a cure with antibiotics such as trimetoprime or ciprofloxacine and lactic ferments to cure the infection and rearrange the bacterial flora of your intestine. I hope this answer was helpful to you! Please kindly rate it as helpful and write a short review about your experience with me! I would appreciate that a lot. Thank you and best regards! DR ERIOL
