Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dry Cough

I have a persistant cough that was a loose cough, and now has become a dry hacking cough at the back of my throat, I felt somthing stuck. In my throat, now I can see with a penlight, some bumps, and when I suck it seems to be pulling forward.. it felt better this morning, the cough was better, so, I didn t think anything of it... I am taking a ventolin inhaler and an advair inhaler.. I have a cpap maching, so I am turning humidifier all the way up, and if this persists in next few days, I will go to doctor. ... I have preoperative for revision for back surgery and have been cleared for surgery.. I had a gastric sleeve surgery in march and have a haital hernia. I have a acid reflux condition and take a benedryl for to keep stomach secretions off my throat, becomes so hoarse have very difficult problems speaking. Allergys too.

As per my clinical experience, the persistent dry cough does indicate viral or bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract most likely. Following measures will help you:
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil
- Prefer warm water to drink
- Avoid aerated cold drinks, dairy fat, pastries, ice cream
- Avoid to atmospheric dust and pollen, animal dander
- Strictly refrain from smoking if applicable
- Prescription of antitussive with Bromhexine, codeine, Dextromethorphan
- Anti-viral as Tamiflu, antibiotics as Cefadroxil or others as per the clinical situation.
