As per my clinical experience, the persistent
dry cough does indicate viral or bacterial infection of upper
respiratory tract most likely. Following measures will help you:
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil
- Prefer warm water to drink
- Avoid aerated cold drinks, dairy fat, pastries, ice cream
- Avoid to atmospheric dust and pollen, animal dander
- Strictly refrain from smoking if applicable
- Prescription of antitussive with
Bromhexine, codeine, Dextromethorphan
- Anti-viral as
Tamiflu, antibiotics as
Cefadroxil or others as per the clinical situation.
