Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dry Cough

Hi, my father s age is 55 and having dry cough from last 2 months. When we had x-ray done result reads fibro calcified opacities noted in biletarel upper zone & in left hilar region - suggestive of old infection then we had PPD text and result is 15/15. His sputum result reads no AFB seen . Please suggest is this sign of TB or just a slight infection.. He is getting week day by day. Plz suggest Gaurav

Hi,

Based on the history your father seems to have re-activation of tuberculosis of the lungs. Advised to consult his doctor for 6 to 9 months of treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
