Suggest Treatment For Persistent Ear Pain In A Child
Hello,i have a daughter of 2 years and almost a month she has ear problem, she has already took two types of antibiotics, ear drop ,paraceramol, nurofen and now otomize ear spray but not working, she crying all night every day and pulls ear, please help me,what should i do and where can i go to make it better treat?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of persistent ear pain which is because of ear infection which leads to recurrent otitis media and ear pain as sometimes infection may remain persistent. Sometimes it could be due to injury to ear drums as well Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult pediatrician for proper diagnosis and otoscopic examination to check level of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin or penicillin at least for 5-7 days along with anti inflammatory medications. Giving steam several times a day will also help alot. Avoid touching or pricking ear and doctor may perform surgical treatment if required. You should apply warm dry compresses to external ear .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
