Suggest Treatment For Persistent Esophageal Spasm Causing Difficulty To Swallow

Hello. My name is Damir. Tonight I was in restaurant with my wife. While eating meal I encountered a problem swallowing food and even drinking fluid. I think it was a esophageal spasm. It hits me quite often while eating, and it persists for an hour or so. During that time I am not even able to drink a water. What should I do? How to treat that? Thank you for advice. Regards, Damir

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Difficulty in swallowing solid and liquids requires prompt examination of the esophagus.
Difficulty in swallowing could be the first sign of esophageal growth.
An endoscopy is required to look for any lesion or growth in the esophagus.
esophageal spasm is also one of the possibility but a growth needs to be ruled out.
Thus, consult your gastroenterologist for clinical examination, investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
