Suggest Treatment For Persistent Fever In A Child

Hi, My son is suffering from high fever of 103. He is 5 years old and his weight 20 kilogram. Our doctor suggested us to use Meftal-P. I gave my son Meftal-P 3 times at a interval of 8 hours. but his temperature is not coming down. Need your suggestion..

Hello,

Usually, fever in children could be due to viral infection.

Usually, it should be resolved by antipyretic medication.

The medication not helping in your case, so he should be investigated further with urine routine microscopic examination, CBC, the peripheral smear examination report and basic LFT for primary work up. According to cause specific treatment given.
