Suggest Treatment For Persistent Headache And Nausea

My husband has been experiencing severe headaches and nausea a least 3 times a week whenever he physically exerts himself. By physical exert, I mean planting trees, digging fence posts, working in the yard etc...not extreme work. He is 52 years old and has no history of migraines. His doctor has run extensive blood work and urinalysis and any heart problems, blood infections, thyroid issues have been ruled out. His kidneys are functioning normal and no blood or protein is found in his urine. The doctor prescribed Phenergan. If he takes one and goes to bed he usually feel fine by morning.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes. As first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
