Suggest Treatment For Persistent Headaches And Weight Gain

I went to my doctor complaining me of headaches she asked me if I have bipolar and schizophrenic that runs in my family and I told her yes I do my mother and on my father s side so she prescribed me Seroquel I m not comfortable with taking Seroquel with the way it s taken effect of my mother of a lot of weight gaining is Her diagnosis right and she haven t even gave me a CAT scan or anything to see what I m having these headaches for. My headaches are getting worse my pain from 1 to 10 I will give you the 15 I m in that much pain I can t drive I can t cope with life because my head is hurting me so bad. Not do I need to just down and give the Seroquel a try or get a second opinion from another doctor

Hi,

Headache may be very troublesome. You are right it may sometimes need CT scan however it's not always needed. We assess patient and would do that certainly if needed but all headaches don't need CT scans. We do CT scan if headache is accompanied by seizures or weakness of speech or legs or if there is persistent vomiting.

So your doctor may be right you may not need a CT scan. You can give Seroquel a try as tension headache may be there. Seroquel may cause weight gain but not always and for every one. You have always the choice to get another opinion if you are not satisfied.
