Suggest Treatment For Persistent Itching Over The Body
For the last two years I have had itching over most of my body. It is not dry skin. It s like tiny pinpricks all over me, that make me itch. There is no rash. I have allergies to some medications. I m on levothyroxine 100Mcg. My levels have changed. But my Doctor has not changed the prescription. I also have acid reflux, and a hiatal hernia. I was on Omeprazole 40 Mg Twice a day. I had diaria for six weeks in the spring, so my Doctor took me off both drugs for a month. I m taking levothyroxine again. Only taking omeprazole once in awhile. Can the Levothyroxine cause my itching?

Suggest Treatment For Persistent Itching Over The Body
Hello, Levothyroxine may not cause itching. Itching may be due to dermatitis or allergy to medication or photosensitivity etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. use tablet Atarax 25 twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Penchila Prasad Kandikattu , Internal Medicine Specialist
