Suggest Treatment For Persistent Itchy Watery Eyes

My husband has itch, watery and red eye problem. He has tried all allergy stuff to no relief. The liquid that comes from the eye ducts is thick, not real watery. He was antibiotics for two weeks for strep and his stuff with his eyes cleared up. Now that he is off the antibiotics his eye symptoms have come back. Do you know what maybe wrong with his eyes and what could he take?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Itchy, watery eyes can commonly result from bacterial or viral infection. Did you see a doctor before taking medicines? If not, then I would suggest see a doctor( ophthalmologist)

As the symptoms have started again, there is need of appropriate treatment depending on the cause. Your doctor might ask for some blood tests to be done if needed. Depending on your history, signs and symptoms he will advice you further treatment plan which will help to improve his condition.

Hope this helps. Feel free to contact for any further queries in the future.
