Suggest Treatment For Persistent Nausea And Vomiting

I have had (for 7 months) on and off lower, right back, below ribs, above hip. Leading to severe cramping around my right side to my stomach causing nausea and at times vomiting. E.R. has done 2 cat scans and blood work including urine sample. I have seen a urologist and my gynecologist, they say all looks ok. I am sick of these pains ruling my life and taking pain meds, i have never been a pill popper. I am awaiting an appointment to get my colon checked but cannot get in til September. Sometimes there is no pain and I feel great, then I can have them 5 days out of seven or not at all for a week. I made a detailed log of all of my activities, eatings, bowel movements, urinations, sleep...... there is no pattern to when the pain hits. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ......

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of stomach ulcer, gall bladder disease or Crohn's disease. Avoid frozen, packaged food. Avoid oily, trans fat, spicy & junk food. At all cost maintain your time of food intake.

Take fresh home made food in small amount, food that is easily digestible. Take digestives & enzymes to avoid indigestion. Do not take food that is allergic to your system, it will trigger gastroesophageal reflux. You can take antacids & PPI's (Paptoprazol-40) to feel better.

Avoid constipation, take laxatives at bed time. Get Liver function tests done. Avoid sedentary life, stay active. Maintain a low BMI & stay away from smoking, alcohol or addictions if any. Stress & anxiety problems (physical or emotional) may trigger your symptoms. Stay away from it.

Get a through medical examination done. If in depression than you may need the help of a psychiatrist or Counselor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
