Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pain At The Back Of The Neck

At the top of my back/bottom of the neck, I have a constant pain that is hot or cold in the sensation. It seems in the very top middle of the back (top of spine). I do not recall any recent trauma to this area. Massage gives a very brief relief. It has not gotten better in over 8 weeks (but not worse either). It does not seem to affect range of motion, but is constant. I am 64 years of age, and work behind a computer 4-5 hours a day
