Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pain In Ear After Injury

hello. I appreciate your assistance and guidance. I got hit hard with a sneaker on my right ear approximately two hours ago and the pain was so intense and I lost all my hearing on that ear til after two hours and its still not completely back. My main concern is the pain, how long will it be that intense appx.? the right ear also has turned purple n hurts with n without touch. Is this normal and how long? do I need to go to emergency room? I have been icing it for about thirty minutes now. I am scared to get a cauliflower ear. please help!! thank you!!! sincerely, Sallymar Ribbot, 39, Female

Acute hearing loss due to trauma should be assessed by a doctor.

It would be best to be seen as soon as you can. Treatment is needed after determining the exact cause of the problem.

It is not possible to determine how long the pain would continue.
